Merlin International, a leading cyber security and IT solutions provider to the federal government, today announced that the company has been awarded an enterprise-wide contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs for an Antivirus, Host Intrusion Prevention (HIPs), and Anti-Spyware/Malware solution. This is a five (5) year contract with one (1) base year and four (4) option years. Over the course of the award, the VA may acquire $21 million in technologies from Merlin including key solution components from McAfee as well as infrastructure and storage components from NetApp, Cisco and F5 networks.

"This recent award with Merlin takes the McAfee-VA partnership to a new level. Our next generation framework will ensure the VA network has an even higher level of cybersecurity resilience."
The VA may also procure $27 million in professional services over the life of the contract. Merlin and partners will provide services for project management, engineering, and operation and maintenance (O&M) support to protect desktops, laptops, and servers in the VA OIT enterprise.
