Merlin International, a leading cyber security and IT solutions provider to the federal government, today announced that the company has been awarded an enterprise-wide contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs for an Antivirus, Host Intrusion Prevention (HIPs), and Anti-Spyware/Malware solution. This is a five (5) year contract with one (1) base year and four (4) option years. Over the course of the award, the VA may acquire $21 million in technologies from Merlin including key solution components from McAfee as well as infrastructure and storage components from NetApp, Cisco and F5 networks.

"For years now, McAfee has shared the VA's mission of protecting veterans by safeguarding their IT systems," said Ken Kartsen, McAfee Vice President, Federal. "This recent award with Merlin takes the McAfee-VA partnership to a new level. Our next generation framework will ensure the VA network has an even higher level of cybersecurity resilience."

The VA may also procure $27 million in professional services over the life of the contract. Merlin and partners will provide services for project management, engineering, and operation and maintenance (O&M) support to protect desktops, laptops, and servers in the VA OIT enterprise.
According to Kevin Gordon, Senior Vice President of Sales for Merlin International, "We have worked hard to build a strong track record of delivering advanced security-focused, enterprise-wide solutions to the VA, and have supported the agency for over 10 years on numerous projects. We are excited about this new award and look forward to continuing our support of the VA mission and to help enhance and strengthen their IT infrastructure."
