Sjoerd Vollebregt (59), has announced today that he will step down as Chief Executive Officer of Fokker Technologies per 1 April 2014. He will be succeeded by Hans Büthker (49), currently the Chief Operating Officer of the company.
“After twelve years with the Stork company and close to five years specifically with Fokker Technologies I believe now is a natural moment to hand over the leadership of the company. Fokker Technologies is a robust company with a global reputation and has an enviable market position. My decision was easier to make knowing that Hans would be willing to succeed me. I have high confidence in Hans, who has a long and excellent track record within Fokker and previously within Stork,” says Sjoerd Vollebregt.
Jacques Schraven, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Fokker Technologies: “We respect and accept Sjoerd’s decision to step down as CEO. We are very grateful to Sjoerd for leading the businesses through twelve intense years, successfully navigating them through various economic and market challenges. Today he leaves Fokker Technologies an innovative aerospace company with a solid foundation from which to deliver future growth. We are pleased that Sjoerd will remain an investor in the business ”
“We welcome Hans Büthker as the new CEO. He has a long and successful record from his various executive roles in Fokker and Stork and we are confident that he is the best man for the job. As Chief Operating Officer of Fokker Technologies Hans has already worked very closely with Sjoerd. He is renowned in the aerospace industry and well positioned to lead Fokker Technologies into the next phase of its development,” says Jacques Schraven.
“I am proud to take over as CEO from Sjoerd and look forward to continue to serve our customers and work with the Fokker team on the successful development of our businesses,” says Hans Büthker
