Bristol International Airport Chooses Micro Nav Simulator

( Bournemouth, UK - 6 October 2005 ) - Bristol International Airport have joined the growing number of UK airports investing in their own simulator by awarding a contract to Micro Nav Ltd for the provision of a two position BEST radar simulator with integrated communications system. The contract was awarded by the Board of Bristol International Airport (BIA) following a public tender process earlier this year. The radar simulator will be used by Bristol, one of the UK’s fastest growing regional airports, for pre OJT, continuation & part task training, unusual situation training (TRUCE) as well as for new procedures evaluation, testing and training. Training on the BEST simulator will enable Bristol to reduce training times whilst optimising the instruction of controllers through simulation of real situations. The complete system has been installed and the site acceptance test completed successfully on 9th September. The training for the use of the simulator has been completed and the simulator will soon be entering service. Other UK airport users of BEST include: London Heathrow; Liverpool and Jersey. Micro Nav have a successful 17 year track record of supplying and supporting radar and tower simulators for civil and military air traffic management authorities world wide.
