Aptima, Inc. announced today promotions in its Executive team. Effective February 4, 2014, Dr. Michael J. Paley, has been appointed to Chief Executive Officer; Dr. Frederick J. Diedrich has been promoted to President; and Mr. Thomas J. McKenna assumes the dual role of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.

Dr. Paley was elevated to Chief Executive Officer from his previous position as Aptima’s President. Prior to that he was Executive Vice President, a position he held since 2008. Beginning his tenure with Aptima as a scientist and researcher in 1998, Dr. Paley has been instrumental in leading the company’s growth, expanding into regional offices in Washington, DC, Fairborn, OH, and Orlando, FL, and entering new R&D opportunities, partnerships, and product markets. His areas of expertise include social analytics, human performance modeling for operational augmentation, and optimal redesign of teams and organizations.
Dr. Diedrich, elevated to President from his previous role as Chief Operating Officer, has been with Aptima since 2001. “Fred possesses a unique combination of scientific skills and business vision. We highly value his leadership and look forward to him further developing and forging relationships with Aptima’s customers and partners,” offered CEO Paley.
Mr. McKenna, promoted to the dual posts of Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer, has been with Aptima since 2000 and served as its CFO since 2010. “Through his accomplishments, Tom has demonstrated a detailed understanding of organizational and operational excellence.” Dr. Paley added.
