This is the second G280 city-pair record to the Middle East this year. In March, the aircraft flew from Singapore to Abu Dhabi in 7 hours and 40 minutes, cruising at Mach 0.80 for the 3,301-nm/6,113-km flight.
“These city-pair records reinforce that the G280 can easily link Asia with the Middle East,” said Scott Neal, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Gulfstream. “The all-new G280 has the longest range in its class and can easily connect Dubai to Europe and most of Africa.”
Pending approval by the U.S. National Aeronautic Association, the record will be sent to the Federation Aeronautique Internationale in Switzerland for recognition as a world record.
The G280 can fly four passengers and two crew 3,600 nm/6,667 km at Mach 0.80. The aircraft features access to the baggage compartment from the cabin, quiet cabin sound levels and advanced safety features, such as auto brakes, auto throttles and automatic emergency descent.
