LM Mentors Build Next Generation of Cyber and Stem Professionals in LifeJourney Program

Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] has joined forces with  the new LifeJourneyTM mentoring program to inspire the nation’s youth to consider careers in cyber security and other Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields. Lockheed Martin experts in data scientology and cyber architecture are serving as LifeJourney mentors to help students understand the interesting opportunities and the skills necessary to get internships and future jobs in related professions.

LifeJourney is a web-based, interactive classroom experience that schools can use to allow their students to “test drive” careers in cyber security and STEM by enabling them to live “a day in the life” of one of America’s industry leaders. Students are exposed to 100 different STEM and cyber security LifeJourneys from leading companies like Lockheed Martin. LifeJourney will debut at the 2013 Cyber Maryland Conference on Oct. 8 in Baltimore, Md. More information about the program can be found on the LifeJourney website.

“The LifeJourney program allows Lockheed Martin to combine our technology expertise with our corporate commitment to STEM education and connect with thousands of students,” said Stephanie C. Hill, president of Lockheed Martin’s Information System and Global Solutions-Civil business. “It’s powerful when our experts in cyber security and other STEM fields can share their experiences and inspire students to seek such exciting and rewarding careers.”
