Curtiss-Wright Controls, Inc. today announced that it has received a contract from Lockheed Martin to provide the Turret Drive Servo System (TDSS) for use in the U.K.’s Warrior Capability Sustainment Programme. Curtiss-Wright’s TDSS provides weapon stabilization for the Warrior combat vehicle, which will extend the British Army’s Fighting Vehicle Capability for at least 20 more years.

“Curtiss-Wright is proud to provide our industry leading, military vehicle rugged drive system for application in the U.K. Ministry of Defence’s Warrior vehicle,” said Tom Quinly, president of Curtiss-Wright Controls.

Curtiss-Wright will provide Lockheed Martin UK AMPTHILL Limited with the TDSS, which is designed, developed and manufactured at the Curtiss-Wright Controls Drive Technology facility located in Neuhausen, Switzerland. The initial contract, which covers the demonstration phase of the program and includes an option for production deliveries, began in December 2012 and continues through December 2015.

The Warrior is an upgraded, medium-weight infantry fighting vehicle designed for deployment on rapid intervention, enduring peacekeeping and peace enforcement operations, and for support to high intensity, major combat operations.
