In her new role, Cunningham will lead external and internal communications activities for BAE Systems, Inc. — developing and executing communications strategies and delivering compelling and innovative messages to shape and enhance how employees, customers, and other stakeholders view the company.
“Kristie’s experience executing high-impact communications strategies spans more than 20 years,” said Linda P. Hudson, president and CEO of BAE Systems, Inc. “Her deep understanding of both external and internal audiences will allow BAE Systems to effectively leverage and realign its resources to meet the unique challenges we face today, and I look forward to benefitting from her energy and leadership in addressing these challenges.”
Kristie joined BAE Systems in May 2010 where she held dual positions leading employee engagement for BAE Systems, Inc., and the company’s parent company BAE Systems, plc, to support strategic business initiatives, promote engagement across the company’s diverse workforce, and inspire employees’ trust in leadership.
Previously, Kristie served as a director of Communications at Northrop Grumman, where she oversaw marketing communications, media relations, and executive and employee communications. Before joining the defense and aerospace industry, Kristie spent nearly a decade in multiple communications leadership roles at AOL. Earlier in her career she held communications positions at MCI WorldCom, the Personal Communications Industry Association, and the Washington Times.
