Boeing (NYSE: BA) and Garuda Indonesia celebrated the arrival of the airline's first 777-300ER (Extended Range) in Jakarta Tuesday.
The long-haul, twin-aisle airplane is the first of 10 777-300ERs delivered to the airline and is a key component of the Garuda Indonesia's Quantum Leap fleet revitalization program.
"The 777 is an extraordinary airplane that will bring a new level of experience for our first and business class passengers," said Emirsyah Satar, president director of Garuda Indonesia.
The airline configured its new 777-300ERs with eight first-class suites, 38 business-class seats and 268 seats in economy class. The aircraft is also equipped with in-flight internet connectivity.
"We're proud to celebrate this milestone with Garuda Indonesia," said Dinesh Keskar, senior vice president Asia Pacific and India Sales, Boeing Commercial Airplanes. "The world's elite airlines fly the 777 and I'm sure Garuda's passengers will notice the difference from the moment they step on and see the new interior."
