SAIC Awarded Contract By Battlespace Flight Services

  • Company to Provide Operations and Maintenance Services in Support of the Air Combat Command Remotely Piloted Aircraft

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) announced it was awarded a subcontract by Battlespace Flight Services, LLC to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services in support of the Air Combat Command (ACC) Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA).  The single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity subcontract has a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, one six-month extension option, and a total contract value of $95 million, if all options are exercised.  Work will be performed primarily at international locations.

Battlespace Flight Services is the incumbent provider for the United States Air Force's (USAF) MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper remotely piloted aircraft. This program supports the USAF Air Combat Command, the Air National Guard, and other major command and combatant command customers.  Under the contract, SAIC will provide O&M maintenance of RPA communications systems including Fixed Site Satcom Terminal (FSST) and Satcom Earth Terminal Subsystem (SETSS) ground satellite systems to support Predator, Reaper and Global Hawk operations.

"We look forward to providing global connectivity to RPA in support of remote split operations for the United States Air Force, United States Navy and other government agencies," said John Fratamico, SAIC senior vice president and group general manager.
