Dutch Foreign Trade Minister visits Fokker in China

The Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Mrs. Lilianne Ploumen, has visited Fokker Elmo in Langfang on the 9th May. The minister was accompanied by a Dutch trade delegation. The goal of the visit was to get an insight view of a Dutch aerospace company working successfully in China.

Fokker Elmo designs, manufactures and supports electrical systems and solutions for Aircraft and Aircraft engines. Fokker has excellent business relationships in China for more than 20 years. The Langfang plant was established in 1997.

The minister was briefed by team leaders and assembly workers during a facility tour. Fokker Elmo China employs more than 650 employees and is expected to grow up to 1400 employees in the next decade. The facility is a state-of-the-art workshop of 12.000 m2 where wiring harnesses for aircraft and aircraft engine programs like the Airbus 320, A380, Boeing 737, 777 and Comac ARJ21, are produced. The trade delegation was briefed about the proprietary Wiring Design and Manufacturing System, which provides a unique and innovative toolset to support aircraft manufacturers worldwide and about the progress made by Fokker Elmo in China in the last decade.
