Fokker Services announces today the introduction and integration of EMTEQ’s eFIT LED cabin wash lighting as an economical retrofit solution for their Russian customer Transaero Airlines on the Boeing 737-800 aircraft. The system not only replaces the traditional white fluorescent tubes by LED light sticks but also introduces blue mood lighting for the ceiling lights. The first installation has been completed successfully and MSN 33982 is already operating with the renewed LED lighting system.
The lighting system, developed together with LED light provider EMTEQ, is unique in the market in that it offers the Boeing 737 operators an affordable option to switch to a dual color system.
“The system reduces maintenance costs tremendously compared to the conventional TL lighting and it requires less energy that contributes to a reduction of CO2 emissions.” says Executive Director Mr. Alex Krinichansky from Transaero, “on top of that we wanted to upgrade the lighting system in the current NG aircraft in order to bring the interior to a higher level with respect to passenger appeal and fleet commonality”
“Fokker Services is very pleased having Transaero as customer for the B737-800 LED lighting system” says Mr. Heino van der Laan, VP Marketing & Sales from Fokker Services, “We keep looking for attractive retrofit enhancements which add value to the customer, and increase the residual value of their aircraft. LED lighting is a good example and has proven to be a very successful product in the Fokker and Airbus market. We are equally delighted to penetrate the Boeing 737 market as well.”
