Rockwell Collins today announced that its Pro Line Fusion® integrated avionics system is now in service on the Gulfstream G280™, marking the system’s debut in the super mid-size business jet market segment.
“The G280’s entry into service is a significant milestone that everyone on our team can celebrate,” said Greg Irmen, vice president and general manager, Business and Regional Systems for Rockwell Collins. “We’re especially proud of the heightened levels of situational awareness that Pro Line Fusion will bring to G280 operators with advances such as head-up guidance with enhanced vision, and the latest in environmental threat detection.”
The PlaneView280™ flight deck integrates Rockwell Collins’ market-leading MultiScan™ Hazard Detection System. This comprehensive automatic weather solution reduces pilot workload with a clutter-free weather display that improves situational awareness and enhances safety and passenger comfort by minimizing unexpected turbulence encounters.
The Pro Line Fusion configuration selected by Gulfstream for the PlaneView280 flight deck also includes the following standard features:
Rockwell Collins’ optional Head-up Guidance System (HGS™) for the G280 provides pilots with essential flight information and guidance for all phases of flight, from a safe, ‘eyes-forward’ takeoff to improved stability on all landing approaches. The HGS also is an option on Gulfstream G350 and G500 aircraft, and comes standard on the G450, G550 and G650.
Pro Line Fusion is the only avionics system scalable to meet the mission needs of the full range of business and regional air transport aircraft. To date, Pro Line Fusion has been selected for 17 new aircraft platforms, including one military application.
