Telephonics Expands its IFF Market Presence
- Awarded a Contract for the AN/UPX-44 in the Republic of Korea
Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF), announced today that it has been awarded a contract for its AN/UPX-44 Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Interrogator for use in the Republic of Korea. The IFF system will be integrated into ground radar air defense systems.

The AN/UPX-40/43/44/505 family of IFF products can be found on various platforms throughout the world, including the U.S. Navy’s MH-60R Maritime Helicopter, the P-8A Poseidon Multi-Mission Aircraft, and the fleet of AWACS aircraft. The IFF family of products is also used on the Canadian Navy’s CP-140 Aurora, Halifax-Class Frigates, CH-148 Maritime Helicopter, and the U.S. Marine Corps Ground/Air Task-Oriented Radar (G/ATOR) system.
