FLIR Awarded US Army Contract to Support Domestic Response Capabilities

FLIR Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: FLIR) announced today that it has been awarded a contract from the U.S. Army valued at up to $88.3 million for the procurement of Domestic Response Capability (DRC) kits for use by National Guard Weapons of Mass Destruction Civil Support Teams. The DRC kit is an integrated suite of advanced sensors and support equipment for detecting and decontaminating chemical warfare agents and other emerging threats.
Under the terms of the three year contract, the Army has placed an initial order for $26.9 million. Deliveries under this initial order are expected to be completed by December 2013. Production of the DRC kits will be performed out of FLIR's facility in Elkridge, MD, and will utilize sensors from several FLIR operations.
