Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. (Nasdaq:KTOS), a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that its SecureInfo cybersecurity group has been accredited as a Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO) under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). The SecureInfo team is now qualified to perform security assessments of Cloud Service Providers (CSP) to ensure they meet FedRAMP requirements.
The FedRAMP program supports the U.S. government's objective to enable the secure and cost effective use of solutions provided by commercial cloud service providers. As an accredited 3PAO organization, SecureInfo will independently validate FedRAMP mandated security controls implemented by cloud service providers. This validation is required whenever U.S. government agencies are planning to use a cloud based solution.
"FedRAMP enables the U.S. Federal government to realize the benefits of cloud computing faster through a single certification process," says Mark Williams, Chief Security Officer for Microsoft Federal. "Microsoft continues to work closely with SecureInfo as a key subject matter expert in cloud computing security. As a 3PAO, SecureInfo can independently certify how Microsoft's cloud computing solutions effectively safeguard our mutual federal customers and demonstrate compliance to FedRAMP requirements."
"Confidence in the effective implementation of robust information security controls, as required by FedRAMP, is critical when a U.S. government agency is considering a cloud computing solution," said Christopher Fountain, Sr. Vice President of the Kratos SecureInfo business. "Our extensive experience securing cloud computing solutions combined with our newly sanctioned role as a 3PAO puts us in an excellent position to support our current and future CSP customers. We not only help CSPs ready their solutions for the U.S. government market, but also help federal agencies move to the cloud with confidence."
