Oldbury UK and Boughton Engineering, the two specialist engineering operations within Skan Group, have strengthened their defence sector business development resources with the appointment of Nancy Pallares, with effect from 1st September. Ms. Pallares will report directly to Group Managing Director, Richard Skan as the group seeks to broaden its reach in its established defence and security markets and particularly overseas.
Nancy Pallares is well known in the UK defence, environmental and security circuit, particularly for her previous eight years experience with a leading supplier in the CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear) sector. She has worked extensively with a range of UK government departments and agencies in areas including security sensitive projects and civilian critical infrastructure. She was previously a member of the CBRN UK Executive Committee.
Prior to moving into her CBRN role, she held a senior appointment responsible for pan-European logistics at a leading European material, mechanical and plant engineering group. A French national and a graduate in English from the University of Haute Alsace, she also has a Masters in English Linguistics from the same University and speaks five other languages.
