Serco Wins $73 Million C4ISR Systems Contract
- Provides Integration and Installation Support to Military Vehicles in Theater
Serco Inc., a provider of professional, technology, and management services to the federal government, announced today that the Company has been awarded a new contract to support the Department of Defense Joint Program Office with upgrading Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) equipment and systems on Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles. The fifteen month contract has a nine month base period and a six month option period with an overall value of $73 million, if the option is exercised.
Serco will enhance the integrated communication systems on U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corp, and U.S. Navy MRAP vehicles used by the warfighters to stay connected through the interoperability of ground-based and airborne equipment. The Company will deploy teams to bases and camps throughout Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Qatar to analyze, install, and test the systems on-site, allowing the vehicles to be used immediately after completion. Serco will also provide sustainment and maintenance support services to keep the C4ISR systems operational. The MRAP vehicles are designed to protect U.S. warfighters from Improvised Explosive Device (IED) attacks and ambushes.

The contract was awarded under the U.S. Navy's SPAWAR Global C4ISR Installation ID/IQ contract vehicle. Serco provides C4ISR installations for SPAWAR and other federal agencies including the Air Force, Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection and port authorities.
