NGC to Supply Air Traffic Communication Systems to Chile

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) announced its UK-based air traffic management subsidiary, Park Air Systems, has been awarded a contract by the civil aviation authority of Chile, Direccion General de la Aeronautica Civil (DGAC), to supply complete ground-to-air communication systems at multiple sites across the country.

Under the contract, Park Air Systems will deliver its latest T6 VHF radios with local technical support being provided by its Santiago-based partner Aerotech.

"Our experience and technical expertise have positioned the company as the leading supplier in the communication systems market," said Charles Houseago, managing director of Park Air Systems UK. "We look forward to working with DGAC and delivering this world-class solution."

The installation of the ground-to-air communication system will take place over five sites: Cerro Colorado, Chillan, Puerto Montt, Puerto Aguirre and Balmaceda. In-country training and a Technical Quality Acceptance procedure will be performed in Santiago.

The contract, expected to be completed by the end of 2012, was awarded following a competitive tender, evaluated on the technology solution and price. Park Air Systems has an installed base throughout South America.
