ECA Program B.V. finishes initial design review for Airbus narrow body conversion into VVIP jet. The aircraft fleet is designed for 19 passengers, it will consist of 3 A-319 aircraft and 4 A-320 jets. The A-320 is to be used for regional flights of less than 8 hours and the A-319 for intercontinental flights.
The service will be operated by a new entity, operating under Dutch AOC and regulations. The aircraft will operate globally with the main focus being Russia and the Middle Eastern markets.
The design process that started in March of 2012 has produced one of the most novel designs yet to be seen in a VVIP conversion, focussing on high quality of materials and innovative lay-out solutions. A fractional ownership gives customers full access to the bigger Airbus jets, for a cost that is less than the purchase cost of smaller business jets.
Actual conversion of the first A-319 will start before the end of the year, the total fleet is to be operational by 2015.
