Night Flight Concepts & ALEA Unveil Agreement for Laser Armor Laser Defense Training
Night Flight Concepts, the leading provider of comprehensive night vision solutions, is pleased to announce an agreement with the Airborne Law Enforcement Association (ALEA) for the provision of Laser ArmorTM Laser Defense training to members at a special rate to help counter the danger of laser strikes.
“The increasing number and severity of laser attacks against ALEA members is of tremendous concern to our organization,” states ALEA Executive Director, Steve Ingley. “This agreement is part of ALEA’s ongoing commitment to serving our members. We believe the Laser Armor online training program provides ALEA members with critical information needed to prepare for, and protect against, damage to equipment and personnel from the illumination of cockpits due to laser strikes.”
The Laser Armor Laser Defense Training was developed by Night Flight Concepts in partnership with Dr. Dudley Crosson, a long-time ALEA supporter, aviation physiologist and educator. Dr. Crosson noted, ““With ever-more powerful lasers coming available to the public, the threat posed by laser strikes to fixed-wing and rotary-wing operators is very real.” Crosson affirms training can help aircrews to “expect the unexpected.” He notes, “Upon completion of the Laser Armor training program, students have a sound understanding of the affects of lasing, methods for mitigating the problem and recommendations for safety management systems, including mandatory requirements for pilot/crew retinal scans to establish vision performance baselines.”
“We are very pleased that Laser Armor Laser Defense solutions are being embraced by law enforcement organizations in Canada and the US to help counter the growing threat of laser strikes,” states Night Flight Concepts President, Adam Aldous. “A flexible, online training option, we believe Laser Armor training delivers a fast, cost-effective way to enhance aircrew safety and increase readiness.”
