Y1B satellite successfully tested in orbit, handed over to Yahsat
- Following the launch by Proton on 24 April 2012, the Y1B satellite has been handed over to Yahsat on 3 June 2012 after the successful completion of in-orbit testing
Astrium and Thales Alenia Space, Europe’s leading space companies, have successfully completed the in-orbit testing of the Y1B satellite, conducted from the Yahsat control centre in Abu Dhabi (UAE).
Yahsat CEO Tareq Abdulraheem Al Hosani said: “I am pleased with the work carried out by Astrium and Thales Alenia Space in the in-orbit delivery of our second satellite.”
