Curtiss-Wright Controls, Inc. today announced that it has been awarded a contract by a leading defense industry contractor to provide the core processing unit for use in the sensor system on a next generation air-to-surface missile. The contract is valued at $1.7 million, with a potential value in excess of $40 million. Curtiss-Wright will provide a set of rugged open architecture COTS processor boards, comprising small form factor 3U OpenVPX™ modules and mezzanine cards (VPX3-450, VPX3-127, ADC512 and FPE320) to provide the core functionality of the common onboard sensor system used in the missile system.
