New Fort Bliss EDGE Innovation Center to Deliver Mission-enhancing Technologies and Capabilities to Soldiers
- New EDGE Innovation Center to focus on improving soldier readiness with command, control and communications tools and supporting the U.S. Army's key modernization objectives
The EDGE® Innovation Network will open the 12th EDGE facility, the Fort Bliss EDGE Innovation Center, on Thursday, May 24, in Fort Bliss, Texas. Located at Building 20196 Minue Drive, the new facility will become a vital local resource for quickly filling communications, command and control capability gaps and fielding innovations that improve soldier readiness. The EDGE Innovation Center will connect soldiers and other military personnel to the 11 other EDGE Innovation Centers worldwide, representing 250 members from industry and academia. The EDGE Innovation Network is sponsored by General Dynamics C4 Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
The Fort Bliss EDGE Innovation Center is a unique, open environment that encourages military personnel to visit and engage with the EDGE team and its global members to experiment first-hand with advanced technologies and products ranging from soldier-worn, networked communications to new technologies and products integrated into military vehicles. The EDGE facility is part of General Dynamics C4 Systems’ Fort Bliss Regional Support and Training Center, which serves the integration, testing and training needs for the Army’s Network Integration Evaluation (NIE) exercises at Fort Bliss and White Sands Missile Range, N.M.
