Polish aircraft makes emergency landing in Sofia

A Polish charter flight made an emergency landing at Sofia airport Thursday, following indications about a fire onboard, Bulgaria's transport ministry said.

The aircraft, flying from Warsaw to Egypt's Red Sea resort of Hurghada with 142 passengers on board, landed normally and all passengers and crew were safe, the ministry said in a statement.

The initial probe by Bulgarian investigators found traces of burning on one of the oxygen masks in the cabin.
