Air India plane makes emergency landing in Bucharest

A Frankfurt-bound Air India plane with more than 300 people on board had to make an emergency landing Saturday in Bucharest after an apparent false fire alarm, an airport spokesman said.

"No trace of fire was detected during an inspection of the plane," Valentin Iordache told AFP. "It's possible that a smoke detector malfunctioned."

The Boeing 777 was carrying 303 passengers and 17 crew on the flight from New Delhi to Frankfurt.

No one was injured, Iordache said.
