  • For CF6-80C2 Engines

DALLAS, Texas - April 4, 2011 - GE has signed two 10-year OnPoint solution services agreements with Delta Air Lines for its CF6-80C2 engines.  The agreements cover material support for CF6-80C2 engines that Delta owns as well as CF6-80C2 engines for third party airlines.

The airline has also signed CF6-80C2 component repair license and engine overhaul support agreements with GE. These agreements will provide Delta with access to OEM technical data for component repairs and engine overhaul to assist in their overhaul operations.

"As a large operator and premier maintenance provider for the CF6-80C2 engine, we are pleased to be working with GE to enhance the level of support for both Delta and our maintenance, repair and overhaul customers while lowering costs," said Bob Currey, managing director of Supply Chain Management for Delta.

"GE is excited to work with Delta and provide them with component repair and engine overhaul expertise that only the engine OEM can offer," said Paul McElhinney, president and chief executive officer for GE Aviation's Services organization.

GE's CF6 engines have been among the most utilized and reliable in the industry. Powering more than 10 models of wide-body aircraft, the engine family has established an unparalleled record of reliability and has compiled more than 370 million flight-hours in service with more than 260 customers worldwide.
