Jet Airways, CFM Celebrate 3 M Flight Hours Achieved by CFM56-powered Fleet
Jet Airways and CFM International have celebrated the achievement of three million total engine flight hours by the airline’s fleet of CFM56-7B engines.
Jet Airways began operation in May 1993 with four CFM56-3-powered Boeing 737s. Since then, Jet Airways has carried more than 136 million passengers and, today, is one of the most respected airlines in the world and the largest private domestic carrier in India. Jet Airway's fleet includes 59 Next-Generation 737-700/-800/-900 aircraft powered by CFM56-7B engines.

Jet Airways operates more than 400 flights daily to nearly 80 destinations across India with one of the most modern fleets in the world; the average age of its aircraft is 5.6 years. The airline attributes its success to a strong emphasis on on-time performance. The fleet has done extremely well in service, with the CFM56-7B fleet maintaining a 99.95 percent departure reliability rate.
