NGC Appoints Danny Milligan Chief Executive for Information Systems Business in Europe

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) has announced the appointment of Danny Milligan as chief executive of its U.K.-based Information Systems Europe business. In this role, he will focus on the strategic direction of Northrop Grumman's activities in both the defence and civil information technology, C4ISR, cyber security and counter-IED markets in the U.K., mainland Europe and its export markets.

He succeeds Sir Nigel Essenhigh in his role as chief executive for Northrop Grumman Information Systems Europe, who left the company at the end of 2011.

As chief executive, he will be responsible for helping the company's Information Systems sector achieve its European business objectives including providing strategic guidance for current programmes, encouraging growth and the development of new business opportunities.

"The U.K. is a key market for us and we work closely with our customers across a range of strategically important areas including command, control and communications systems, unmanned ground vehicles, civil and defence IT systems, intelligence, cyber security, and air traffic management," said Linda Mills, president of Northrop Grumman's Information Systems sector. "Danny brings to this role the skills and domain experience that will be important for us as we continue to grow and expand our portfolio in the U.K. and in export markets around the world."

Danny Milligan joins Northrop Grumman after a 14-year career with General Dynamics UK (GDUK) where most recently he served as vice-president, Mission and Security Systems and was a member of GDUK's executive board.

Northrop Grumman has a well-established presence in the U.K. and provides a variety of advanced technology solutions in support of programmes in the defence, security and resilience markets.

The company operates from primary locations in London, Chester, Coventry, Fareham, Hendon, New Malden, Peterborough, Royal Air Force Waddington and Solihull and provides avionics, communications, electronic warfare systems, marine navigation and naval systems, unmanned ground vehicles, C4I solutions and mission planning, aircraft whole life support, IT systems and cyber security.
