BAE Wins $10.8 M for Bradley Survivability Seats
BAE Systems has received a $10.8 million award from SSI Technology, Inc. to provide Advanced Survivability Seats for Bradley Fighting Vehicles used by the U.S. Army. The specially designed seats – called Survivor Post Mount 1000 and Survivor Modular Troop 3000 – include an energy-absorbing technology to protect soldiers and other warfighters.
“This technology helps decrease the potential for spinal injuries that may result from the shock of a blast,” said Frank Crispino, director of vehicle protection programs at BAE Systems Support Solutions. “The seat and restraint system are integral components of the overall vehicle survivability capability to protect occupants from blasts and other threats.”
