L-3 Communications announced today that its Global Security & Engineering Solutions (L-3 GS&ES) unit was awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) contract to support the U.S. Air Force under the fourth installment of the Contracted Advisory and Assistance Services (CAAS IV) program. The CAAS IV program consists of multiple ID/IQ contract awards and has an estimated funding ceiling of $4.7 billion over the next eight years. As one of 29 firms selected as ID/IQ award winners, L-3 is now qualified to compete for task orders under the program.
CAAS IV will be used to supply the Air Force and other Department of Defense (DoD) organizations with a variety of professional services, analytic support and management expertise. L-3 GS&ES and its antecedent units have been involved with each installment of the contract since it was originally created in 1996.
“The CAAS IV contract is the primary means for Headquarters U.S. Air Force, Air Combat Command, Air Force District of Washington and other worldwide organizations to acquire specialized professional, management and technical services,” said John Murray, senior vice president and general manager of L-3 GS&ES’ Professional Services Unit. “We are pleased to lead a team of specialized companies to provide critical knowledge and strategic expertise to the United States Air Force through 2019.”
