FedEx Express has selected the CF6-80C2 engine to power an order for 27 new Boeing 767-300 Freighters.
FedEx Express has also signed a multi-year OnPointSM solution agreement with GE that covers the maintenance, repair and overhaul of the engines.

The CF6-80C2 engine is GE's best-selling widebody engine and has accumulated more than 173 million flight hours and 40 million cycles, which is equivalent to 380,000 trips to the moon. The CF6-80C2 engine incorporates the Tech CF6 program, which consists of advanced airfoil cooling technology into the high-pressure turbine (HPT). This is standard on all CF6-80C2 production engines.
OnPoint solutions are customized service agreements tailored to the operational and financial needs of each customer for any size fleet. These agreements are designed to help lower the customers' cost of ownership and maximize the use of their assets. Backed by GE's global support network, OnPoint services may include overhaul, on wing support, new and used-serviceable parts, component repair, technology upgrades, engine leasing, integrated systems support and diagnostics and integrated systems.
