Thales introduces Integra

  • the first Emergency Locator Transmitter with integrated GPS and built-in antenna
Neuilly-sur-Seine - Thales today announces the certification of the KANNAD Automatic Fixed Integra Emergency Locator Transmitter (ELT) for use in Commercial Aviation. Certified by COSPAS SARSAT, this high performance product is available for all types of commercial aircraft including business jets, regional aircraft and larger passenger aircraft.

Developed by KANNAD Aviation, the Integra ELT brings to market the optimal emergency beacon solution with unique features such as built-in GPS and internal Antenna enabling automatic signal transmission in case of broken aircraft antenna or coaxial. Airlines will benefit from a 30 per cent saving in weight and size compared to previous generation equipment. This will leads to lower operating and maintenance costs as well as greater reliability.

The newly designed Integra ELT is fully compliant with the 2010 French DGAC guidelines that require new DGAC registered aircraft to be integrated with a GPS as of 1st July 2012.

A specific version for helicopters, with the G-Switch assembly angled downwards is also available.
