Engine failure forces Cathay jet to turn aroundHONG KONG - Engine failure forced a Rome-bound Cathay Pacific flight to return to Hong Kong shortly after it took off from the southern Chinese territory on Wednesday, an airline spokesman said.
The Airbus A340, carrying 296 passengers and crew, experienced problems in its third engine about an hour into the flight, forcing the pilots to shut it down, airline spokesman Thomas Lau told AFP.
