Cobham Introduces New Multi-Band Lightweight VSAT TerminalOrlando, FL - Cobham has introduced its new multi-band Lightweight VSAT (Very Small Aperture Terminal) Terminal (LVT) man-portable satellite antenna system. Cobham's TracStar LVT series is scalable to multiple reflector sizes, multiple frequency bands (Ka, Ku, X) and multiple amplifier configurations. Its modular design features field-swappable antenna feeds and RF chains. Once assembled, it can be manually pointed using one of our easy-to-use handheld aids, which includes a smartphone application.
Cobham's TracStar LVT has a rugged yet lightweight Carbon Fiber reflector and tripod with a total weight of less than 30 lbs (13.6 kg). The outrigger tripod is available in both a high and low profile version, to fulfill a diverse array of environmental requirements. The system can be transported in a ruggedized backpack or hardened case to withstand everyday portability. Organizations with a need for lightweight and quick-deploy antenna terminals, such as the United States Army, would greatly benefit from these features.
