TeleCommunication Systems Receives $15 M Order From US Army
- For SNAP Tactical Transportable TROPO and Deployable Communication Equipment
SNAP's 3T option provides high bandwidth, low latency, non-satellite Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) network transport for existing and future bandwidth intensive C5ISR platforms. The 3T system establishes connectivity at data rates greater than typical satellite links without the recurring satellite airtime costs. The increased throughput capacity offers greater speed for bandwidth-intensive applications such as Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) video distribution. Bandwidth offloaded onto 3T links will allow better use of the limited satellite resources and provide long term cost savings to the warfighter.
Global Military Aircraft Avionics Industry 2015 Market Research Report
"This is a game-changing technology. Our warfighters have been challenged with the high cost of satellite bandwidth because it's a constrained commodity globally. To address this, TCS enhanced the SNAP product line," said Michael Bristol, senior vice president and general manager of government solutions for TCS. "Because SNAP and the 3T are modularly designed and backwards compatible, our existing customers of SNAP can upgrade their systems very easily. With SNAP 3T, the warfighter can communicate over long distances (BLOS) without any satellite bandwidth costs. The ROI of the 3T option is very attractive."
