Wizz Air Selects P&W's Environmental Friendly EcoPower Engine Wash
MRO EUROPE - MADRID, Spain - Sept. 28, 2011 - Wizz Air has signed a long-term agreement to use Pratt & Whitney's environmentally friendly EcoPower(r) engine wash system on its fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company.Under the five-year agreement, Wizz Air will perform engine washes at Budapest International Airport and will also have mobile wash capability to perform washes at many airports within its route structure.

"Prior to using EcoPower engine wash, we used the conventional shepherd's hook method to wash our engines," said Simon Mermod, Wizz Air powerplant manager. "We switched to Pratt & Whitney's EcoPower Engine Wash service because we recognized the operational, environmental and cost benefits it offers. With EcoPower Engine Wash, we anticipate a considerable reduction in our fuel burn while contributing to a cleaner environment."
