DLS Awarded a $24 M to Deliver MIDS-LVTS to US and Coalition ForcesCedar Rapids, Iowa - Data Link Solutions (DLS), a joint venture between Rockwell Collins and BAE Systems, has been awarded a $24 million contract from the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command to provide Link 16 terminals to U.S. and coalition forces.
These Multifunctional Information Distribution System-Low Volume Terminals (MIDS-LVTs) provide real-time data communications, situational awareness, navigation and digital voice, all in a jam-resistant, crypto-secured package. Link 16 is the tactical data exchange network used by U.S., NATO, and its allies.

This award includes MIDS LVT (1) variant radios for U.S. Navy military platforms - such as the MH-60R, MH-60S and F/A-18 - and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers, including Australia and Japan. It also includes MIDS-LVT (2) and (11) variant radios for U.S. Army platforms. MIDS-LVT (2) is specifically designed for U.S. Army Patriot Information Coordination Central and Battery Command Posts. Voice has been added to the MIDS-LVT (11) via a battery-less handset for other ground uses.
