Avon Protection Systems Receives $19M Contract from US DoD

Baltimore, MD - Avon Protection Systems (APS) (LON: AVON) announced today that it has received an order for M50 & M51 masks (Joint Service General Purpose Mask, JSGPM) valued at $19 million dollars for delivery to the US Department of Defense.

This award is under the existing 10 year sole source requirements contract with the US Department of Defense for the supply of M50/M51 JSGPM masks and is in addition to the 100,000 mask systems provided for under the base contract.

"This order demonstrates the confidence and reinforces the commitment that the Department of Defense has in our technologically advanced product," said Gary Dunn, Vice President. "We are honored to be working with America's armed forces to supply these state of the art CBRN mask systems."

Since the initial JSGPM contract award, Avon Protection has shipped more than 600,000 masks. Work on the order will be completed at APS's manufacturing facility in Cadillac, Michigan, and the M50 JSGPM mask will in time replace all existing masks within the four services of the US armed forces.
