Pilot killed in military training plane crash in Mauritania

NOUAKCHOTT - A military training aircraft crashed in northern Mauritania on Sunday killing the pilot who had been flying solo, a defence ministry statement said.

The small plane crashed near the town of Chinguetti during "an ordinary training mission", the ministry said, adding that an investigation was to be launched into the cause of the crash.


Mauritania has four training aircraft used by recruits at a military academy in Atar.
