Wallop Defence Systems, the Hampshire based countermeasures division of the worldwide Esterline Defense Technologies group, has recently won a major contract which represents the biggest single order for chaff payloads ever won by the company. This initial contract, signed for an undisclosed sum, represents the first part of an ongoing programme to supply Chaff payloads to the Indian Navy.
The specially designed and manufactured chaff payloads will be integrated into short, medium and long range chaff rockets and deployed via the Indian Navy's own Kavach rocket launching system.
This contract has been won in the face of fierce worldwide competition and is the latest to be awarded to Wallop Defence Systems by the Indian Navy during a 15 years business relationship.
Dave Connors, Business Development Director of Wallop Defence Systems commented "We are delighted that the solution we put to the Indian Navy provided the improved performance sought by their Procurement Department and we look forward to delivering the full value of the programme over the coming years."
