Thales Contracts New Service Concept for Claire Thermal Camera

The Netherlands Ministry of Defense and Thales Nederland signed a contract for the support of the Claire thermal camera in the 184 Dutch CV9035 infantry fighting vehicles. The contract comprises a partnership between the Netherlands Defence Materiel Organisation, including its existing maintenance facilities, and Thales. The contract combines complementary capabilities of both parties in an optimal way and will result in an increased efficiency within the Defence Materiel organization. It is expected that this partnership will be extended in the future, also in other projects. The contract is the result of a good cooperation between the Netherlands Ministry of Defence and Thales Netherlands and fits in the Thales' policy to be a reliable partner in service concepts. The contract is effective as of today and has a lead-time of three years with possibility for extensions until the end of the expected in-service period of the vehicle (2040). The Dutch CV9035 vehicle is part of the succession of the YPR vehicle program, which at the time included 800 thermal cameras from Thales Nederland. Another part of this succession is the series order by the Dutch MOD for the Boxer vehicle, for which Thales also delivers the Claire thermal cameras.
