SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica company, signed a contract worth five Million Euro with the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Estonia for the supply of systems for a NATO military base.
Through this contract, which will last 12 months, the company will provide navigation and landing systems aids, meteorological sensors and the modernization of the control tower systems to be installed at the Amari military base.
The agreement also includes the civil works relevant to the tower.
Thanks to the agreement, the Amari Airport will become the largest military Air Base in Estonia according to ICAO standards and will ensure such a level of safety to be listed as one of the reference airports for NATO missions in Europe.
The signing of the agreement is particularly important because it is the first contract regarding the modernization of a NATO military base acquired abroad by SELEX Sistemi Integrati.
The contract represents the first agreement ever signed by the Italian company with the Estonian customer and will allow SELEX Sistemi Integrati to promote its products for other NATO bases located in Europe.
