URS Corporation (NYSE:URS) today announced that it has been awarded an engineering services contract to provide technical and programming support to the U.S. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. The contract, which includes a one-year base period followed by four one-year options, has a maximum value of $47 million to URS, if all options are exercised.
Under the terms of the contract, URS will provide software engineering, analysis, research and development, and testing and engineering support services for the Strategic and Weapon Control Systems Department at Dahlgren. URS also will provide technical and management support for mission planning, weapons control, systems engineering and information assurance work at the facility.
Commenting on the contract, Randall A. Wotring, President, Federal Services, URS Corporation, said: "We are proud to have been selected to expand our technical support work at the Naval Surface Warfare Center and to be helping the Navy develop and evaluate new systems and technologies."
