Selex SI Signed a Contract With the Finnish Navy

SELEX Sistemi Integrati, a Finmeccanica Company, signed a contract for a value of about 5 MEUR with the Finnish Navy to supply 15 Multi Data Link Processors (M-DLP) for naval units and operational centres. The contract includes all the related services from the installation up to operational setting to work. By this contract's supply, which will last about 24 months starting from 2011, the most important world-wide operational Link22 network installation on board of naval units will be realized. The agreement is set in the frame of the "Finnish Navy Multilink System" programme aiming to integrate the M-DLP with the Finnish Navy command and control systems, both on board and at ground stations level, and to provide interoperability with the other Finnish Forces. The M-DLP for the Finnish Navy will provide a full Link16, Link22 and JREAP capability. The system is equipped with the SIMPLE interface, which allows a direct integration within interoperable test scenarios. SELEX Sistemi Integrati's M-DLP has been developed over the past 10 years to provide the market with the capability of exchanging data coming from on-board sensors and relevant to the various platforms position and to on board combat systems, through tactical links. The product allows the user to exploit a common interoperable and scalable solution for all naval, avionic and ground platforms. Besides allowing a complete tactical link configurability, the M-DLP can be integrated with any existing command and control system, through the use of an integration interface called Common Host Interface. The M-DLP is currently in use on the Cavour aircarft carrier, on the REMM frigates, on the Mimbelli class naval units, on the ITN Etna naval unit, for radar control centres and the C2M system of the Italian Air Force and is used by the NATO in the frame of the ALTBMD (Active Layered Theatre Ballistic Missile Defence) contract.
