Seven US soldiers killed in Afghan bomb attacks: NATO
KABUL, Aug 30, 2010 (AFP) - Seven US soldiers were killed in Taliban-style bomb attacks in southern Afghanistan Monday, NATO told AFP.One attack killed five soldiers, NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement.

The deaths bring to 478 the total number of foreign soldiers killed in the Afghan war so far this year, according to a tally based on that kept by the icasualties.org website.
Of those casualties, 315 have been Americans, according to the site.
Since the war began with a US-led invasion that pushed the Taliban's 1996-2001 regime from power, a total of 2,46 foreign troops have died in the war, 1,262 of them Americans.
The war is dragging towards its 10th year, with almost 150,000 United States and NATO troops in the country battling to quell the insurgency.
