ATK Names Mike Kahn to Lead the Missile Products Group

(Minneapolis, August 5, 2010) -- Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) announced today that the company's Board of Directors has elected Mike Kahn to serve as Senior Vice President and President, ATK Missile Products group, which is located in Baltimore, Maryland. Mr. Kahn most recently served as the Executive Vice President of the Aerospace Systems group. A 22-year veteran of ATK, Mr. Kahn has held a number of executive level leadership positions across a variety of programs and operations, including the Vice President, General Manager role of the company's prior Launch Systems group.

Mr. Kahn has an extensive background in aerospace and rocket motor propulsion. He was responsible for overseeing the management of the group's space, strategic defense and commercial programs and their related operations. In addition he was instrumental in transitioning the group's Space Shuttle program to NASA's next generation exploration systems.

The Missile Products group is a leader in tactical rocket motor production for a variety of air-delivered and ground-launch tactical missiles. The group is home to many of the company's missile interceptor capabilities and it is the prime contractor for the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) and Multi-Stage Supersonic Missile (MSST). With FY10 sales of approximately $760 million, the group is also a manufacturer of defense electronics and special mission aircraft.
