(July 30, 2010) -- Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, has contracted with Frasca International, Inc. for an Embraer Phenom Flight Training Device (FTD). The FTD will be designed to meet FAA Level 6 flight training device requirements and will be equipped with actual Garmin Prodigy as found in the aircraft. A high fidelity digital sound system (TruSound(tm)), TruFeel(tm) control loading, auto-testing, Graphical Instructor Statin (GISt(tm)) and Frasca's visual system (TruVision(tm)) with 220o display system will also be included. The FTD will be installed in the Holleman-Niswonger Simulator Laboratory at Purdue and will be used in their professional pilot training program along with several previously installed Frasca devices.
Frasca is also building two Phenom Synthetic Training Devices (STDs) for the Finnish Aviation Academy. Their two STDs will meet the JAR FSTD Level 2 and FNPT II MCC requirements and will each include a 220 degree visual system, TruVision(tm) Global, manufactured by Frasca. Those devices will be installed at the Finnish Aviation Academy training facility in Pori, Finland later this year.
