SAIC Awarded $35 Million Task Order by NSWC Crane Division

  • Company to Continue Technical and Training Support for NSWC Crane's Joint Forces Training and Support Branch
(McLean, Va., July 29, 2010) -- Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a task order by the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) - Crane Division to provide technical, training and armory management support to the military services and other law enforcement agencies. The task order has a two-year base period of performance, three one-year award term periods, and a total value of more than $35 million, if all award term periods are exercised. Work will be performed at NSWC Crane in Crane, Ind. and other locations as required. The task order was awarded under the U.S. Navy's SeaPort-e contract.

NSWC Crane is a field activity of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) with focus areas in strategic and special missions, and electronic warfare/information operations. The division maintains a full spectrum of research, development, acquisition support, and test and evaluation capabilities for the Department of Defense. Under the task order, SAIC will continue to support NSWC Crane's Joint Forces Training and Support Branch by providing a wide range of classroom training, logistics documentation, technical manual update, and software update support for training equipment related to systems such as small arms weapons, ground based operational surveillance, and night vision devices. SAIC will also develop a computer-based training system for use in NSWC - Crane's E-Learning environment.
